My Name is Joni Primus. This is my 40th year of teaching in Catholic Schools. I am in my 37th year of teaching at Mary of Lourdes. I began teaching when we had two different schools, St. Mary’s and Our Lady of Lourdes. I’ve seen many changes in my years of teaching but most things stay the same. First graders are unaware of all their abilities when they start school. I enjoy helping them become confident, independent learners. I love watching their personality emerge as they become more confident. I love their ideas and creativity. They help me grow as a person also. I love sharing my faith with the children and watching the light in their eyes when the mysteries of the Catholic faith are revealed to them. I live in Swanville and enjoy gardening, yard projects, painting, reading, traveling, and my children and grandchildren.
Hello! My name is Kayla Brisk and I teach 1st grade at Mary of Lourdes Catholic School. I grew up on a family farm near Pierz. Growing up I attended a Catholic elementary school as a child. I feel very fortunate to be able to teach in a Catholic school and help provide students with the same experience I was blessed to receive when I was a child. I am newly engaged and will be getting married this June! Some hobbies I enjoy outside of school include fishing, hunting, watching sports, hiking and gardening.
This is my fourth year teaching and my second year teaching first grade at Mary of Lourdes Catholic School. I love seeing the excitement the students have everyday for learning at Mary of Lourdes Catholic School! I feel very honored to be a part of Mary of Lourdes Catholic School! It’s awesome to see how dedicated the families and staff are to help the children grow and learn about God in a Catholic environment!
