Dear Parent,

I want to thank you for sharing your child with me over the past nine months.  This class has truly been a joy to teach!  As I look back over the year it is exciting to see the progress each child has made.  Each one has grown not only academically, but also spiritually, socially, and physically.

I hope that reading skills and enjoyment of literature will continue to grow over the summer!  Reading four or more books will prevent the “Summer Slide” that we have talked about in class. A perfect way to enjoy wonderful stories and to become more familiar with the public library is to participate in the summer reading program.

I also hope your family will continue to practice the multiplication and division facts over the summer so that it won’t be hard to remember them in fourth grade.  The students worked hard to learn them this year, but it takes repetition to retain the facts.

Here are a few websites that contain fun ways to keep learning over the summer:
www.mathisfun.com                  www.mathplayground.com    www.funbrain.com                      www.spellingcity.com
www.sheppardsoftware.com   *We used this for map games, but it has hundreds of other games to enjoy.

My wish for you is that every family will have a happy and safe summer and that you make memories that will last a lifetime!  You do a fabulous job raising children!  It has been a pleasure to get to know your child this year.  Each one has been such a gift.

Thanks for all your support this year.  May God bless you!

Love,

Mrs. Witt
